Web service standardization

This workgroup has been established during meeting #69 in Genoa early 2017 to explore the potential of web services for our purposes complementing existing EDI messages. While there are some specific web services already in use by individual members of the industry, coordination is missing to avoid a chaos of individual solutions. It's our goal to engage in the standardization of web services for the maritime industry to ensure efficient communication and ease of implementation for everybody.  

Tasks currently under progress:

  • Review of technical API standards
  • Separation of business process and technical implementation
  • Options for proper documentation
  • Recommendations to give for web services
  • Develop / implement some pilot web service
  • Synchronize activities with other standards groups
